Inventory Insurance Guidance - For Clients Storing Products at Mountainy Warehouses

Mountainy does not provide insurance coverage for client-owned inventory stored in our facilities. This is standard practice across the warehousing and 3PL industry. Clients are responsible for maintaining their own insurance coverage for their merchandise while it is stored with us.

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE INVENTORY INSURANCE

In most cases, you do not need a new policy. You can ask your insurance broker to update or endorse your existing policy by:

  • Removing any prior warehouse or 3PL locations (if applicable)

  • Adding Mountainy’s warehouse location(s) listed below

Your broker will handle the paperwork.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE INVENTORY INSURANCE

You can obtain coverage by contacting your current business insurance broker (or a new broker) and requesting inventory or property coverage for goods stored at a third-party warehouse. Your broker will guide you on limits, premiums, and coverage structure.

Type of Coverage Requested:

Property / Inventory Insurance covering goods stored at a third-party warehouse location.

Storage Description:

Client-owned inventory stored at a third-party fulfillment warehouse.

Inventory Ownership:

Inventory remains owned by the client at all times.

  • Average inventory value

  • Peak inventory value

  • Type of products stored (e.g., apparel, supplements, consumer goods)

  • Whether products are temperature-sensitive or regulated
